A couple of years ago, I purchased my first Cricut machine (Explore Air 2). 

I was so excited to use it but didn’t really know the ins and outs.

I started looking at how to make files with Adobe Illustrator but then I realized I did NOT want to spend money on something I’m just learning to get good at.

Then I discovered Inkscape.

The software was intimidating and not intuitive at first, so I started looking for tutorials on how to make specific things. 

While there are tutorials out there, the information is all over the place, and nothing is really concise. 

Inkscape does have a manual, but it’s super long, and not easy to navigate.

I hoped into the program and started playing around and figuring things out. Piecing together the bits and pieces from videos I’ve watched plus my own discoveries in the program.

After a while, I was able to create my own high-quality, ready-to-cut SVGs from scratch.
